1. How do I book a kayak rental?
You can book directly through our website, contact us by phone or email or stop by in person at our super handy kayak stand! We recommend booking in advance, especially during weekends and holidays.
2. Do I need kayaking experience?
Nope! Our rentals are beginner-friendly, and we’ll walk you through everything you need to know. Many of our routes are calm and perfect for first-timers.
3. What’s included in my rental?
Each rental includes:

Safety instructions and local route recommendations
We also have dry bags and maps available upon request!
4. Where do we launch from?
We offer launches at several beautiful locations in northeastern Montana. Launch point details will be provided when you book!
5. Can I bring my kids?
Yes! We welcome families. We have youth-sized life jackets. Children must be accompanied by an adult and wear a life jacket at all times.
6. What should I bring with me?
We recommend:

A bluetooth speaker can make it a real party

It’s not a bad idea to pack a roll of toilet paper/wet wipes and a bag for your garbage…you know…. Life happens.

7. What’s your cancellation policy?
We offer:

Full refund if canceled 48+ hours in advance

50% refund if canceled 24–48 hours in advance

No refund for cancellations within 24 hours
Weather-related cancellations will be rescheduled or refunded as needed.
8. What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety first! If weather or water conditions are unsafe (like high winds or storms), we may reschedule or offer a refund. We’ll always contact you in advance if changes are needed.
9. Can I bring my dog?
Dog-friendly paddlers are welcome at certain launch sites! Just let us know in advance, and we’ll help you plan a safe, dog-friendly route.
10. How do I know which lake or river to paddle on?
We’ll help you choose based on your experience level, the weather, and what kind of scenery you’re looking for—whether it’s calm lake waters, winding rivers, or quiet coves. We know the hidden gems and we’re happy to share!
11. How long can I keep the kayak?
We offer half-day, full-day, and multi-day rentals. Just let us know what kind of adventure you’re planning and we’ll get you set up with the right gear and timing.
12. Do you deliver kayaks?
No, not at this time! We are a pick and an drop off business only at this time!
13. What if I’ve never been kayaking before?
Totally okay! We specialize in helping beginners feel confident and safe. You’ll get a quick how-to, safety tips, and route suggestions that are beginner-approved.
14. What are the weight limits?
Our standard single kayaks typically support up to 275–300 lbs. The paddle boards can hold 200-500 lbs, depending on the type and size. Our pedal boats weight limits vary depending on the model, but generally range from 450-1,400lbs. If you’re unsure, just ask—we’ll match you with the best setup.
15. Do you rent other gear like SUPs or canoes?
At this time, we specialize in kayaks, SUPs and pedal boats—but we’re always exploring new gear options. Let us know what you’re interested in for future offerings!
18. Are there restrooms or facilities at the launch sites?
Some sites do, some don’t. When you book, we’ll let you know what to expect at your chosen launch spot and help you plan accordingly.
19. Can I fish from the kayak?
Absolutely! Some of our kayaks are fishing-friendly. Bring your rod and make sure you have a valid Montana fishing license. We can recommend quiet spots that are great for casting a line.
20. What if I tip over?
It’s rare, but it can happen! Our kayaks are stable and well-suited for calm waters, but we’ll teach you how to stay safe, what to do if you flip, and how to secure your gear. Safety first, always.
